This painting was inspired by my childhood memories. And what great memories they are.
Our skating rink was the cold outdoors. First we had to wait until the small pond froze hard enough to hold us and by the time that happened it also had a good layer of snow on the ice. Before we laced up our skates each of us kids took big and little shovels to help clear the snow off the ice. The best skating was when the temperature was crisp, the moon was big, the skies clear and lots of hot chocolate!
